Theatre Exile is iconoclast, familial, provocative, emotional, stimulating

“A friend’s house where you can put your feet up and talk about anything”

Theatre Exile is a small black box theater in South Philly. I met with their creative director Deborah and along with some great quotes, she had incredible insights on TX’s position in the Philadelphia theater scene. They are heavily focused on producing shows that challenge the status quo; the gritty, controversial plays that spark difficult conversations.  I immediately drew a visual connection to quickly drawn protest posters and the visuals tied to political movements. I drew my own type for the system in order to emulate those elements.
