As friends Ruth and Jeremy started up Season 2 of their podcast “Peach Lemonade” they reached out to me for a refresh of their old design. Using inspiration from their old painted mark, I developed a new palette and logo for the podcast along with a finding a new typeface to represent it.
The dynamic of the two on air is full of friendly banter and each guest is pulled from the hosts’ existing relationships. The show feels bubbly and personal, and the goal of the design was to highlight the soft nature of the friendships that permeate each conversation. The podcast is not a hard hitting investigation, nor is it a productivity business guru giving advice. It is a representation how we all spend time with friends.
“Easy friendships” became the center of my design language. My focus with the pastel colors and the vector logo was to intrigue interest with a modern visual system, but not abandon the “easy friendships” motto. I also worked to make the system feel competitive with other podcasts in the genre, without losing a personal touch. I balanced a large color palette to work with the logo in all situations, also giving color the ability to represent a variety of guests in episode thumbnails.
The scale for this project was not as large as most branding I have done, but with just a logo design, I still created a core idea to represent Ruth and Jeremy that gave them new ideas for how to expand the system and represent the podcast.
